David Shepherd is a hyperrealist Canadian painter whose work has been shown in private collections across Canada, the US and Germany. He uses photography as a base reference to create his mesmerizing and vibrant oil on canvas paintings. His pieces are characterized by a sense of world community and empathy for other human beings, made visible through the recurrent motif of the eye, which represents what the artist calls a “fingerprint”, a symbol of identity and hope for the future.

Kh Bamba

Kh Bamba, a painter, textile artist and graphic designer from Senegal, is rethinking the way we establish ourselves in the world during this time of “identity crisis”. Kh Bamba is inspired by Senegalese history and tradition to create his colorful figurative and conceptual paintings, which he makes using paint, yarn and textiles. The artist often incorporates in his work a multitude of cultural elements such as masks and statues from various ethnic groups, in an effort to create a sense of unity and harmony, while denouncing xenophobia, racism and discrimination. His art acts as a reminder for the Senegalese youth to get in touch with their heritage and connect with one another.
